The Neighbor's BIG project

Remember the picture of Rox, Casey, & I on Thanksgiving at Dude's???? She made the remark that she didn't realize her kitchen was so blaaaah? Well, she put Leon to work - and see the pretty yellow walls now? Ya! They are BRIGHT!!!!

And then you know what's coming next????? Bill & Justin are going to be laying her new laminate floor. (practice for doing mine)
The flooring was picked up by the Schmit's yesterday - so I figured I better get over there to photograph the OLD CARPET!

Here is the outline of the iron that she dropped on the floor.....melted the carpet....(she usually kept a throw rug over it) and Sammie LOVED to get the rug all in a ball so she could lay on it.

......this is in front of the stove. She would SPILL food, then try to clean it up....oh what a MESS this is......(another rug coverup)

So that was the way I left them last night.

This afternoon was the HORRENDOUS task of tearing up said carpet. Look at the gloves and tools Leon was using. First cutting sections of the carpet to grab hold of, to pull up.

Pull, Dude, Pull!!!!

A rear view!!!!?????

WHEW!!!! That was such hard work.....time for a "treat".

Okay...Break is over. Then, time to pull out the stove. Oh, what are we going to find there?

HMMMMM! No yellow paint behind the stove? BWAHAHAAH!!!!

Sides of the stove are D-I-R-T-Y........YUCKY

----and that was the "less dirty" side....GOTTA CLEAN IT!!!!

WOW! This was a BIG piece. Guess that's going in a pickup for on the floor....

Leon says....."are we done yet?"

Pretty near the end.

At this point, I needed to go home. They walked with me to nail some boards on the bottom of the plastic over my front door. It had pulled loose - and they sure didn't want it to all blow off so they would have to do it all over again. It really helps a lot when those north winds blow.

It was an exciting afternoon!!!!! (I told you I lead a boring life)
Stay tuned for the installation of the new floor...oh, maybe Sindee will document that!
