Two weeks ago, Sandra, Sindee, Sammie, & I headed to Omaha for a sister's weekend. Our youngest sister, Patti had to come from Wichita to take care of some business, so she drove to Betty's in Fremont on Friday night. We decided to go to Applebee's for lunch on Saturday. This is our picture there. We're all wearing our tee shirts that say "What Happens With The Sisters Stays With The Sisters". We had lots of comments about them that day. Patti is the only one that didn't have a jacket over the tee shirt....she's a "hot body"....barely ever wears a coat.
Sindee had a fajita wrap that was a bit too spicy. She thought maybe sucking on a lime might take away some of the tang.....
Oh, maybe NOT!!! The picture is blurry because Sandra was laughing so hard she was shaking the camera...although that is not ALWAYS the case with Sandra's blurry pictures. (sorry, Dude)
After lunch (& dropping off Betty at her house) we went to Omaha and checked into the LaQuinta Inn off Maple & I-80. We left Sammie there and headed out to SHOP! We didn't even do a LOT of retail damage - went back to the motel to take Sammie out, then went to Olive Garden for dinner. Oh my.....we waited over an hour for a table...but then we weren't really in a hurry. That gave us a chance to have ANOTHER cocktail....right, Trish???? There must have been some kind of school dance because there were lots of kids with fancy and sometimes revealing dresses & gowns. Anyway, we had a yummy meal.
By then it was past 9 p.m., so back to the motel, another trip outside with Sammie, and we got ready for bed, watched a "little" tv; lights were out by 10. Shortly after we got in bed, there must have been a couple big dogs down the hall that decided to bark and bark and bark. Good little Sammie never let out a peep, I mean bark. It finally did stop. Don't know if someone complained or they just got tired of barking.
BUT....Sammie decided at 2 a.m. that she needed to go out - so I had to get dressed over my pjs and take her out again. Shortly after I got back in bed, those big dogs started in again. But not for too long.
The next morning Patti got ready first so she could go to her old church and the rest of us headed back to Fremont to have brunch at Betty's. She always does such a great job with brunch. We had a sausage quiche like pie, cinnamon rolls, coffee, and MIMOSAS! Patti got there before we were done - so she was able to enjoy the meal, too. After we got the dishes in the dishwasher, we headed back for home. Guess the mimosas caught up with Sandra & Sindee, because they both went to sleep, and Sammie always sleeps in the car - so I was lonely driving home.
I guess Patti left shortly after us to go to Craig to get her cat that her brother-in-law had been keeping for her and they left for Wichita. I guess she got home about 9:30 that night.
It was a fun, fun weekend and great for all 4 sisters to be together.

Wow! what a great comentary about our fun weekend and you are right it was lots of fun even though I didn't sleep very good for fear of snoring and the shower was a little to be desired but fun it was.
ReplyDeleteLove the sister picture! A person can tell you are sisters even if you don't have hot pink t-shirts on stating that fact. All they have to do is listen for the laugh.
ReplyDeleteI love this. You did an awesome job on this post. It was such a fun weekend. Now we just need to figure out when and where we are celebrating your birthday. That is just around the corner. Should we meet??? I will be in Nebraska for my birthday. We are going to the red/white game and that is on my birthday. Anyone else want to go with us???
