HELLO!!!

I'm "trying" this to see if it'll work. Everyone has been bugging me about starting a blog, and I've been reluctant to do so. My life is NOT very interesting. Besides...I really would rather bug the rest of the people that already have blogs - to keep updating. Now I'll probably be the one being bugged. Oh well!

I had a wonderful Christmas. I spent Christmas Eve day with Rox's family. We opened gifts in the afternoon, and then went to town to have Chili & Oyster Stew at Grandma "J"'s and with Jane, Dave, & Greg. Then we went to church at 9 p.m. It was a very nice service. Casey played her clarinet with another clarinet & a flute prior to the service. She doesn't think she did very good, but I enjoyed it.

Christmas Day, Bruce was very "anxious" about cooking the Prime Rib. He paced a lot. The Peterson's and Jake joined us and we had a wonderful meal. The afternoon was spent playing a card game called PIT. It is about trading commodities and trying to get the corner of the market. It got rather loud at times.

I did leave early to get home before too dark. Dude called me on the way and said she had taken Sammie home - but I should stop to have "leftovers" with them. The Schmits were coming back after chores. Sooooo I had to eat again.....this time it was turkey and it too was great. Steve & Lori arrived just before I left Dude's.

Friday we were all at the Schmit's. We were also joined by Sindee & Steve's Dad. More Prime Rib, this time prepared by Steve. It was fabulous, too. After dishes were in the dishwasher, we played Monopoly. Mid afternoon we had a gift exchange and Leon got a Husker Monopoly game, so we had to try that out. Sindee CRUSHED us.

All in all, it was a great Christmas celebration, but now I'm ready for things to "settle down". Oh, wait..........we still have NEW YEARS!!!!! Wonder what that will bring????
